Islamabad, August 29, 2024—With the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 around the corner, PMDC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj has delivered an impassionate appeal to all the country’s universities. These sentiments have been underscored by an increased focus on the provision of this significant examination, set for September 22, 2024.
The MDCAT concept is essential for prospective medical and dental students in Pakistan; exam rigging cannot be entertained. Speaking at the official opening of the new school year, the PMDC President singled out the need to offer equal chances to all kinds of learners to show they are intelligent and capable without the spectre of dishonesty or violations around them.
Universities Taking Charge
As per the PMDC Act 2022, the conduct of MDCAT 2024 lies with some of the most prestigious public universities in Pakistan. These include:
• The University of Health Sciences Lahore (UHS) is in the Province of Punjab, Pakistan.
• Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi Sindh
• University of Khyber KPK Peshawar
• Bolan University of Medical & Health Sciences is a Public University established in Quetta, Balochistan province, Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
• SZABMU Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Multan Medical university Islamabad)(Islamabad Capital territory, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K)
• International University Karakuram, Gilgit Gilgit Baltistan.
These universities are nominated by provincial/ regional governments and are expected to supervise examinations at Destiny University, Mahatma Gandhi University, and Annamalai University, including faculties located in other regions of the country.
Closeness and High Protectiveness to Security Systems
Dr Rizwan Taj instructed strict security measures to conduct the MDCAT without mishap. These measures involve ensuring that candidates do not indulge in cheating or any form of malpractice, including the use of biometric identification, surveillance cameras, and jammers.

The PMDC President focused the meeting on the need for enough remuneration, equipment, and training for exam proctors and staff to ensure their full capability of inspecting and implementing the examining rules.
A Call to Students
Now, with 167,077 applications getting finalized for MDCAT 2024, many academicians and candidates are at risk. The President has encouraged all candidates to be very honest and portray a high level of integrity during the examination. Regarding cheating or any other form of misconduct, he said that it will not be condoned, and if anyone tries it, strict action will be taken to maintain the integrity of MDCAT.
The MDCAT test, to be held in 2024, will also comprise 30 centres in Pakistan, including international ones in Dubai and Riyadh. This will be an excellent chance for aspiring candidates to show commitment and enthusiasm towards a profession in the medical and dental fields.
