The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially announced the date for the MDCAT 2024, the entrance exam for admissions into MBBS and BDS programs across Pakistan.
This year’s examination is set to be held on September 22, 2024. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for this crucial test.
Exam Schedule and Centers
The MDCAT 2024 will be conducted nationwide, with centers available in all provinces, Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
International students can also take the exam at designated centers abroad.
The test will start at 10:00 AM (PST) and will be administered simultaneously across all locations.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The MDCAT 2024 will be a paper-based, multiple-choice exam conducted in English. It will consist of 200 MCQs covering the following subjects:
• Biology: 68 questions
• Physics: 54 questions
• Chemistry: 54 questions
• English: 18 questions
• Logical Reasoning: 6 questions
The exam will test various levels of difficulty and cognition, from easy recall to logical reasoning.

1. Validity of Results: MDCAT results are valid for three years from the date of the exam. If you retake the exam, you can use the highest score achieved for your medical or dental college applications.
