The MDCAT-2024 (Retake) Test organized by SIBA Testing Services (STS) ended on Sunday, December 8, 2024. This comprehensive examination took place across six major cities in Sindh. The main towns that will benefit from this dam are Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, and Sukkur. Applying merit, transparency, and technology in testing at STS is intended to provide a seamless and ethical testing process to sustain a commitment to enhancing educational assessments.
Impressive Participation and Attendance
According to data provided by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), the test saw remarkable participation:
- Registered Applicants: 38,684.
- Appeared Candidates: 32,208 students with an 83.26% attendance rate from the total list.
- Absentees: 6,476 (16.74%).
The test was carried out in seven centers, and STS remained a responsible organization by dealing with and reporting five cases of copying and three cases of impersonation.
PMDC Cut-off Criteria for Admissions
The PMDC established the following cut-off scores for the MDCAT-2024 (Retake):
MBBS Program: 55%.
BDS Program: 50%.
The results were officially announced by STS, revealing the success rates for MBBS and BDS programs:
- MBBS: Overall, 13,718 candidates passed and crossed the 55% cut-off.
- BDS: 16,072 candidates scored above the 50 percent mark cut-off.
