Recently, the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, addressed the candidates’ concerns about the MDCAT 2024 examination. To deal with any grievances regarding the question paper, a special ‘Complaints Portal’ was created. The chief executive of UHS agreed to remove two contentious questions from the MDCAT 2024 test after a review by a panel of subject matter specialists.
Complaint Review Process
On September 22, 2024, UHS opened the complaints portal for candidates to submit their concerns from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The subject matter specialists reviewed all the complaints received. As directed by the two teams, UHS has decided to delete two questions from the paper. Therefore, candidates will lose one mark per deleted question, irrespective of their initial responses.
Deleted Questions with Papers Codes
The questions that were deleted from each paper code are as follows:
Paper Code A: Question No. 2 and 18
Paper Code B: Question No. 51 and 67
Paper Code C: Questions No. 37 and 51
Paper Code D: Question No. 51 and 67
UHS Official Statement
As explained by the Pro-Vice Chancellor of UHS, this action was taken to ensure equity for all candidates. The scores for these questions will be obliterated and compensated in the total percentage score for the final assessment.
This review process also shows that UHS is very interested in a transparent and fair examination system so that all MDCAT candidates are given a chance based on proper assessment.
Candidates are advised to check the UHS website to get the latest updates.
In this way, UHS has gone through its process of reviewing and providing a compensation mechanism for deleted questions to minimize complaints and maintain the credibility of the MDCAT 2024 exam.
